Energy-aware Computation

Synopsis

Europe has a strong leadership in energy-aware embedded computing research with special focus in low-power platforms. With multi-core platforms becoming mainstream, there is a need to facilitate heterogeneous multi-cores which perform operations in a low-cost and efficient manner. On one hand, the challenge is how to balance energy and performance to provide for time-aware computing. On the other hand, this needs to be paired with mechanisms for temporal isolation. We addresses these challenges through accurate and predictable analysis models, which allow efficient management of system resources.

Leadership & Achievements

Stefan M. Petters served as PC chair for the 25th Euromicro Conference on Real-Time Systems 2013 (ECRTS 2013), held over July 9-12 in Paris, France. This conference is considered as one of the top three conferences in the area of real-time embedded systems.

Stefan M. Petters was co-chair of the 5th International Workshop on Operating Systems Platforms for Embedded Real-Time Applications (OSPERT 2009), held in conjunction with the 21st Euromicro Conference on Real-Time Systems in Dublin, Ireland, July 1-3, 2009. Earlier, in 2008, Stefan M. Petters also served as Track Chair at OSPERT 2008.
