Wolfgang Mitterer is one of those rare musicians who can equally well be found at the keys of a pipe organ playing Bach in a cathedral somewhere in the world or in a nightclub taking part in an improvised jam session with leading jazz artists. His works also reflect this existence, and may be performed in an opera house, a concert hall a mine or an open-air quarry. His language is heir to the entire past tradition of western music and his technical mastery is such that we never know where his music will lead us.
