Venue & Hotels

The ECRTS 2011 and satellite workshops will take place in the ISEP Campus.

ISEP is located in the University area in the north of the city, and it is served by the Metro line D (Yellow Line) with a direct connection (15 minutes) to the city center (downtown).

Hotels in the Campus area

There are two hotels that are actually located in the campus area:

Hotel IBIS São João (web) and Hotel Eurostars Oporto (web). 

• The IBIS São João is less than 5 minutes walking to the conference location; the Eurostars Oporto is 10 minutes walking. The IBIS São João is very good for an IBIS. The daily rate is below € 70 (all taxes and breakfast included). The WiFi, however, is only free in the common areas. You can book your rooms directly via their webpage.
• The Eurostars Oporto is higher standard (larger, rooms, etc.). CISTER has reserved a block of rooms in this hotel at a reduced rate - € 73,00 for a single room and € 90,50 for a double room (all taxes and breakfast included). The WiFi is free everywhere. In case you are interested in booking on the Eurostars Oporto please do it so through the email sales@eurostarsoporto.com using the reservation code ECRTS2011. The cut-off date for the reduced rate at Eurostars Oporto is May 31st, 2011.

Hotels Downtown with easy acess to Campus and Conference Location

We also recomend two hotels located downtown, but with easy access to our campus (15 minutes by Metro line D).

Hotel Porto Trindade (web) and Hotel Teatro (web).

Both are located closer to the historic Porto and have free internet access in all the areas. The price and quality of the Hotel Porto Trindade is similar to that of Hotel Porto Eurostars, and it is located just across the street from the main Metro hub of the city. Hotel Teatro is a design Hotel and prices are a bit higher.

• Hotel Porto Trindade : € 70,00 for a single room and € 78,00 for a double room (all taxes and breakfast included) Booking may be done via email to recepcao@portotrindadehotel.com. The cut-off date for the reduced rate is May 31st, 2011
• Hotel Teatro: € 113,00 for a single room and € 124,00 for a double room (all taxes and breakfast included). This may be booked via email to manuelsoares@hotelteatro.pt. The contact person is called Manuel Soares (Chef of Reception). The cut-off date for the reduced rate is May 27th, 2011.

Other Hotel Sugestions

There are also other alternatives in the city for every budget.

In the five-star list we can recommend Infante Sagres (web), Porto Palácio (web) and Yeatman (web).

• Infante Sagres is a traditional boutique luxury hotel right in the city center, and a retreat for many famous personalities that visit the city. For reduced rates at the Infante Sagres  - € 115,00 for a single room and € 129,00 for a double room (all taxes and breakfast included) - please reserve until May 31st, 2011 using the email bookings@hotelinfantesagres.pt (Contact person: Sandra Soares) and the reservation code ECRTS11.
• Porto Palácio combines executive-conscious and luxury rooms with top-notch spa and gastronomic treats. In case you prefer Porto Palácio Hotel use the email macabanelas@portopalaciohotel.pt. In this case the contact person is called Alexandra Cabanelas. To make sure you will get their special reduced rate - € 110,00 for a single/double Executive room and € 160,00 for a single/double Deluxe room (all taxes and breakfast included) - please make your reservation until the May 31st, 2011 using the same reservation code as above (ECRTS11).
• The Yeatman, on the other hand, is a design luxury hotel with focus on the port wine traditions of the city envolving the guest in the wine spa concept and a relaxing environment. You can book your rooms directly at the hotel's website.

The Grande Hotel Porto (web) offers old style luxury at affordable prices. Starting at roughly € 85 it is situated in Rua Santa Catarina, which is one of the traditional, pedestrian shopping areas in Porto.

On the cost-focused side, the Star Inn (web) is a low-cost design hotel with single rooms starting at € 35 and you can even walk to the conference location (25 minutes).
