Social Program

The location of the reception is now finalized. On 6th of July we will have a cocktail reception at the famous Palácio da Bolsa, which is the Porto Stock Exchange Palace and the most visit tourist attraction in Porto. Built on the ruins of the cloisters of the St. Francis Convent, it houses to this day the commercial association and is intimately tied to the trade of Port Wine. As it happens this week the World Congress of Wine and Vine is having its Gala Dinner in Palácio da Bolsa.

Arriving there, we will set out with a tour of the rooms, which feature not just impressive walls and furniture, but also magnificent wooden floors, some of which inlaid with intricate patterns. The Arabic room is the famous unique reception hall built in the Moorish revival style, which to this day is used to receive high profile visitors to Porto. After visiting the Arabic Room, we will sip cocktails in the granite galleries of the Palácio.

Discover Porto

We are happy to present now our 4 day partner and family program in detail. While the conference attendees are busy in the technical session, we offer to take their partners and families around Porto and surroundings. Choose between a guided City Tour, a the visit to the Museum of Modern Art followed by a trip to Foz and the sea side as well as a day trip to Braga. Or just join us to Explore Porto on a relaxed walk through narrow alleyways of the Baixa. Alternatively you can have it all. More information on the detailed plans is available from the ECRTS 2011 conference webpage mentioned below. The partner and family program is free of charge, however, some entry fees to museums or the like might apply on the day. Please help us to optimize our organization for the events by registering on our web form. You can enroll for each of the 4 days separately in this Google form.
