The WATERS 2011 workshop has already posted a list of papers for the workshop on their page and the other workshops will soon follow with their respective programs. Hotel Block Booking Deadline & Venue Information

The end of May is near and that means the block booking deadlines are approaching fast. The cut-off date for the reduced rate at the Hotel Teatro is indeed today May 27. The other hotels with which we have negotiated conference rates, which include the Eurostar Oporto near the conference venue, the Hotel Porto Trindade, the Infante Sagres and the Porto Palácio Hotel require booking by Tuesday May 31 to take advantage of the conference rates.

The first social event of ECRTS 2011 will be the after workshop-club on the Cais de Gaia below the Port Wine cellars and will be open to all attendees of the workshops, as well as to those with extra tickets. Travelling together from the conference venue we will cross with the Metro over the Douro River on the top level of Ponte D. Luís I, one of the most iconic landmarks in Porto and offering an incredible scenic view of the river. Arriving at Jardim do Morro station, we will take the newly opened cable car Teleférico down to the Cais, where we will enjoy drinks and dinner.

Discover Porto

Another event in the series of tourist activities for families and partners of attendees is our planned visit to several of the sightseeing landmarks of Porto. This includes a stroll through the "Centro Português de Fotografia" situated in a former Prison of the 18th century and enjoy the view across Porto from the top level exhibition rooms. Eduardo Souto de Moura has been remodeling the interior and the results are worth visiting.  Later on we will climb the tower of the "Igreja dos Clérigos" (Clérigos Church) to overlook the city and the river and top it all off with a visit the nearby "Lello & Irmão" bookshop.
